We have been working on it in the background for some time, but from tonight on it is online, our new look! We have the whole website in Wordpress now, which makes it easier to update (in both languages), but also makes it easier to switch between the Dutch version and the English version. We are very happy with it and hope that our visitors will appreciate it too!
Last week almost all the snow had melted away, but on Saterday morning we were surprised with new snow. On top of that the sun was shining for the first time in a month. So it was time for another lovely walk in the snow and this time we brought our camera. In the snow photo album we have added the new pictures, click on the photo to see more snowy pictures!
Sunday we had another match for the wintercompetition. Only Babs participated this time. At the standard agility track we were eliminated due to a small mistake. At the jumping we had a smooth clean run, and we ended up at 14th place in the ranking (about 110 dogs participating).
With pain in our hearts we have said goodbye to our Borre (Xybor Bijou v.h. Haskerhûs) this morning. This battle could not be won and our only option was to spare him from more pain. He was our first own dog, my first agility dog, the first Dutch Dog Frisbee Champion, but most of all our dear teddy bear-dog. Words can not describe how much he will be missed.
Bye bye dear, dear Fluffybear, all is well now! You will be in our hearts forever …
The little field in front of our house was not as wet as I thought it would be (after all the snow we had), so I took out a few jumps and the weavepoles and for the first time in 3 weeks trained a little agility with Gimmick!
On Boxingday it was time for the annual X-mas trial organised by BAND. A very nice trial with a lot of friends there too, the perfect way to spend Boxingdag! Babs and Nessa were competing. Babs went very well! At the standard agilitytrack ze made a tighter turn after the a-frame then I anticipated and we were eliminated in an otherwise very good run. At the jumping she went very well again and we had a clear round in a good time, which resulted in a 9th place in the ranking in Open Class (2nd and 3rd grade, all heights together). The video of this run can be found below. Nessa was very eager, but due to a few small mistakes we were eliminated on both runs. So overall it was a very nice day!
De dogs have been enjoying the snow we have for a few days now. They just don’t get enough of it and have loads of fun. Even Borre seems fit and young again. Too bad that it has been a bit dark with the snowclouds, so we have not taken much photo’s yet. I just went into the garden to take a few photo’s for a snow-impression.
Last night we were watching (part 1 and 2) of One man and his dog on television at the BBC. Normally our dogs are not interested in what can be seen on tv, but Gimmick found this very intriguing and stood there watching for quite some time!!
